Company Profile

EAnD are mechanical engineers specialising in the development and application of advanced engineering technologies in the mineral processing and mining industries.  Our aim is to reduce the risk associated with large capital cost equipment either during the purchase or once it is commissioned.  

We are an independent company, fully owned by our staff.  EAnD is not affiliated with any equipment vendors.  This enables us to give independent, uncompromised advice to our clients without conflicts of interest.  Our independence and state-of-the-art technology sets us apart from all other engineering consultants and contractors in the mineral processing field.

Our skills base is in:

  • Specification and tender assessment of mills, gearless drives, geared drives, crushers, screens, winders, etc;
  • Technical management of equipment including:
    • Design audits
    • Fitness-for-purpose analysis;
    • Complete quality surveillance of mill systems including Owner's team review of non-destructive testing, fabrication and casting, final dimensional checks, machining set-ups, 
    • Expediting;
  • Mill and crushing system analysis:
    • Mill/Crusher - motor - foundation-soil interaction analysis;
    • Dynamics for vibration;
    • Gearless (ring) motor collapse analysis;
    • Gear contact load analysis;
    • Mill bearing fluid film analysis
  • Failure analysis and remedial design of mechanical equipment.

Our staff are all fully qualified engineers.  Each has a background in the mining industry in design, performance testing, remedial design, specification and procurement.  Over the past ten years we have been focussing on heavy equipment, particularly mills and crushers.  EAnD is now recognised as a leading provider world-wide in the development of mill system specifications, analysis and quality surveillance.
